Guide to Connecting LinkedIn & Sales Navigator
Best Practices for a Stable, Long-Term Connection
Keeping your LinkedIn and Sales Navigator accounts properly connected aids in smooth syncing, uninterrupted automation, and accurate data flow into your portal. Follow the steps below to reconnect and maintain a stable integration.
1. Turn On Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
LinkedIn now requires two-factor verification for all users to enhance account security.
- Log into your LinkedIn account.
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Go to Settings & Privacy → Sign in & security → Two-step verification.
- Toggle on two-step verification.
- Choose your preferred method:
- Microsoft Authenticator app (recommended)— a good option for added security.
- Phone number — easiest and fastest.
- Complete verification and confirm your phone or app is synced.
2. Ensure Sales Navigator Is Active and Accessible
Before reconnecting, confirm that your Sales Navigator account is active and ready.
- From LinkedIn, click the Sales Navigator icon in the upper right corner.
- Open Sales Navigator to verify access.
- If prompted by a setup wizard or error message, complete any required steps to reactivate your account.
Once inside Sales Navigator, you’re good to move forward.
3. Reconnect LinkedIn + Sales Navigator in Your Portal
Now that both accounts are verified, reconnect them within your portal.
- Navigate to your portal dashboard.
- Click the LinkedIn connection bubble.
- Select LinkedIn Premium & Sales Navigator.
- Confirm your country and region (these should autofill).
- Click Connect.
- When prompted, log in with your LinkedIn credentials.
- Enter your 2FA code when received (via SMS or authenticator app).
Once submitted, the system will automatically sync your LinkedIn and Sales Navigator data.
Do not close the window while syncing — wait until the confirmation message appears.4. Confirm a Successful Connection
When the sync completes, you’ll see a message confirming a successful login.
- The LinkedIn and Sales Navigator connection bubbles in your portal will turn green (previously red).
- This indicates both integrations are stable and authenticated.
You can now safely close the login window and continue using your portal.
5. Pro Tip: Maintain Connection Stability
To avoid disconnections or sync errors, regularly review your active LinkedIn sessions.Check here: LinkedIn Active Sessions
Best practice:
- Limit to 1–2 active sessions at a time.
- If you notice multiple sessions (e.g., 5+), sign out of any older or unused devices.
- Always reconnect through the same browser where your LinkedIn login is active.
