Connecting QuickBooks or Xero (Franchisees)

How to connect your accounting software, keep data secure, and fix connection errors.

Written by UB from Revscale™

FranFinance only becomes useful once your accounting data is flowing in. Connecting takes a few minutes and happens through a secure, official login with your accounting provider.

Which accounting software does FranFinance work with?

FranFinance connects to QuickBooks Online and to Xero. Both give you the same benchmarks, peer comparisons, and AI assistant. You do not need to change how you keep your books, you just link the account you already use.

Can I connect both QuickBooks and Xero at the same time?

No. Each location uses one accounting provider at a time. If you connect a second provider, it automatically replaces the first. Pick the software that holds the books you want FranFinance to read from.

How do I connect my accounting software?

From your dashboard, choose "Connect Accounting" and select QuickBooks or Xero. You will be sent to your provider's own login screen to approve access. Once you approve, FranFinance confirms the connection and begins pulling in your financial history so your dashboard has something to show.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. FranFinance connects through the official, approved login method for each provider, so you never share your accounting password with FranFinance directly. The secure keys that keep the connection alive are encrypted while stored. You can disconnect at any time to end the connection.

My connection says it expired or shows an error. How do I fix it?

Accounting connections occasionally need to be renewed, or a provider may report a temporary error. The fix is almost always the same: disconnect the account and connect it again through the provider login. That refreshes the connection and restarts the flow of data.

How current is my data?

FranFinance refreshes your financials automatically on a regular schedule, so your dashboard reflects recent activity without any manual work. If you have just made changes in your books and want to see them immediately, you can trigger a manual sync for your location rather than waiting for the next automatic refresh.
